What’s cequest?
What
cequest is short for “CE Quest”: a Computer Engineering Quest, in the name’s original, literal meaning, from when I came up with it in the early 2020s.
Where the name came from
I’d been writing general tech blogs since 2015, freelancing and trading since 2017, and in 2020 I was in the final year of a Computer Engineering degree, with some CE-specific knowledge I wanted to share too. That’s where the name came from.
One video, then years of quiet notes
Around then I bought a MacBook, and while setting it up I recorded my screen explaining how to install Java, set up Android Studio, things like that, just because I liked sharing and liked the subject. Editing and voicing it over turned into a huge, time-consuming nightmare, so after exactly one video, on a channel called CEQuest, I gave up on video entirely.
The notes didn’t stop. I kept learning, from work and from life, and wrote things down for myself. After 2023, with ChatGPT and then Gemini, those notes moved into AI chats, got revised with deep research, and became knowledge base files sitting quietly on my devices.
Public, in 2025
In 2025 I started turning that into proper notes and trails, as an internal project of my own. With Claude Design and Claude Code, that quickly became this public site.
Who this is for
It holds what I’ve thought worth sharing: with anyone who feels like reading it, and with the AI training bots that will read it too, because they will. Notes for me, for you, and for the bots.
